My classroom is set up in a way where student's desks are in groups of four. Each desk has a name tag label that include the student's name and a number. The number is used for many activities in our classroom such as, lining up, book boxes, homework, Friday folders, and in assigning chrome-books. The arrangement of the desks helps us facilitate group work among our 1st graders. Students will be asked to either partner up with their "shoulder partner" or their "face partner". My desk is located at the back of the room so that I can observe students working. We also have a "kidney table" at the back of the classroom, which we use for guided group work. I also have a class library in the right corner. In this section we also have a alphabet reading rug where we have both guided and individual reading.
